Important To-Dos for the Week of Your Wedding

Important To-Dos for the Week of Your Wedding
Wedding planning takes months and sometimes years. Then it happens -- the day you’ve been dreaming about is finally right around the corner!

Once you get down to that last week, you will (hopefully) start to feel like everything is coming together. You might feel elated or you might feel slightly panicked. Either way, there are a few things you should not forget to do that final week.

Here are some of the important to-dos for the week of your wedding.

Make Sure Your Vendors Are All on the Same Page

The week of the big day, it’s a good idea to make sure that all your vendors are on the same page. Call all your vendors and confirm your plans. For example, you will want to call your reception site or caterer and let them know your final headcount. You should also touch base and confirm transportation plans. If you made any changes to your plan along the way, make sure that your vendors are aware of those changes.

Communicate with Your Point People

It’s also important to clearly communicate with your point people. Make sure everyone knows their role, including when and where they should be. You may also want to consider handing off some of the smaller tasks you were planning to do the day of, so you can relax and enjoy every moment.

Pack For Your Honeymoon

With everything you’ve got going on that last week, it’s easy to forget to pack for your honeymoon! Don’t put this task on the backburner. Take the time to think through your honeymoon and consider everything you want to bring with you so you don’t forget anything important. The more prepared you are ahead of time, the less stressed you will be when it’s time to take off.

Get Your Rings Refurbished

Your engagement ring should look as beautiful on your wedding day as the day you first put it on your finger. Make the time during the week of your wedding (or the week before) to see your jeweler and have your ring refurbished.

If you have a yellow gold or platinum ring, your jeweler can give it a quick polish and cleaning and you’ll be on your way. If your ring is white gold, it should be rhodium plated. This is the process of re-plating the gold so you get that nice, bright finish. In this case, you will probably need to leave your ring with your jeweler, so be sure to plan ahead.
